An empowered woman acts with confidence to achieve her own goals to maximize the quality of her life. I want you to achieve your goals as I did mine. I was one of the first female partners at a major international law firm. After ten years I went on to become a senior executive at a Fortune 500 company and the only woman on its executive floor. At times, my confidence was shaken on the path to these achievements but I persisted.
Confidence is the foundation of achievement, but workplace and societal norms often undermine women’s confidence. My mission is to help you achieve the goals you identify for yourself with confidence. Your goal may not be climbing to the highest rung on the ladder. It may be finding time for family, community and hobbies while continuing to work outside the home. Or it may be changing careers or leaving the workplace entirely. It may be acting with greater confidence throughout your life — to free yourself of behaviors like perfectionism and self-criticism.
Whatever your goal, I will help you achieve it. I want you to flourish in all aspects of your life. Cultural norms just make that more difficult for women. I want to do my part to level the playing field by coaching and writing. I am the author of the upcoming book Confidence You Don’t Need to Fake that provides practical tips to increase readers’ confidence.
I’ve succeeded at law and at business, but I’ve also learned — somewhat belatedly — the value and joy of living a balanced life. It’s time for me to give back. My focus now is the success and well-being of women and girls.
